What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage is a similar feature that lets a site keep information on your device. We call both "cookies" on this page.

Storage the shop needs to work

These are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are not used to track you, and do not need your consent.

  • spyie_cart: the items in your basket, including any embroidery text, so your basket survives a page refresh.
  • spyie_delivery_method: whether you chose standard or Express Delivery.
  • spyie_discount: a discount code you entered in the basket.
  • spyie_cart_checkout_...: a short-lived copy of your basket and the details you entered, kept while you pay with Stripe or PayPal so we can confirm the order when you come back. It is removed once the order is confirmed.
  • spyie-cookie-consent: whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every page.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how people find and use the site, such as which pages are viewed and what type of device is used. It uses Google Consent Mode v2.

If you are in Ireland or elsewhere in the European Economic Area, analytics and advertising storage are switched off by default. Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years) are set only if you click accept. Until then, the tag can only send basic signals that store nothing on your device. Declining does not stop you shopping.

Outside the areas where consent is required, analytics is on by default and no banner is shown. You can still turn it off through the cookie settings link.

Chat, payment and review services

The chat assistant is provided by IntellextAI and loads from their servers. It processes what you type into it and may use its own storage under their notice.

Stripe and PayPal may set their own cookies on their payment pages, under their own policies. Trustpilot applies its own policy if you follow a link to its site.

Changing your choice

Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page to change your mind at any time. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing site data also empties your basket.
